I had a black silkie sit on fertile eggs perfectly for 3 weeks then killed the first chick that hatched! This was right at the beginning of the first lockdown and at the time it wasn't easy to find an emergency heat lamp for the rest! We did though and successfully raised 5 babies, got a proper incubator now !
