Slow drivers........

a very sad note to the consequences of stupid driving.

Yesterday, a kid going to school decided to slow down and stop. The kids behind him tried to pass. They didn't see the car behind the rise. They were taken to hospital in coma's. Haven't heard today of their conditions. Of course the kid who caused the accident doesn't see what he did wrong, they were just messing around, he didn't make them pass.........

side note to this is, just read account in paper, tells a little different story than what was being told at school, didn't mention that first kid stopped on road, of course he's fine, probably one who gave account.

another side not, shared this account w/posters on another site that bragged about doing this, and at least one responded he saw nothing wrong w/stopping, it was the fault of those that passed. While they shouldn't have passed, why would someone take joy/satisfaction of contributing to human suffering????? Want to drive slow, pull over and let the others pass, IS THAT SO HARD SINCE YOU ARE IN NO HURRY??

Me too!!! Especially when I am going 5 miles over the limit and people ride my butt. I will take my foot off the gas and just coast.

My thoughts on that are YOU can go as slow as you want in front of or behind me, but we are both going to be in a much better frame of mind if you make it possible for me to get in front of you.

I know that I am going to get yelled at for this but...

If I am going five miles over the speed limit and someone is still riding my butt then that person is breaking the law. My brother has gotten several tickets and his excuse is always, "I was keeping up with the flow of the traffic on the highway." He is probably being honest, but guess what the cops don't tear up the ticket once they stop you. It doesn't matter to them that everyone else is going seventy or eighty.

I also think that everyone should stay close to the speed limit. I don't see why someone who is doing the speed limit should pull over to help another person break the law.

Okay. Flame away.

But if you want to go very fast, then work to have the laws changed. I wouldn't mind doing away with a speed limit on some highways.

Yes, very slow drivers should get ticketed also

I certainly won't flame you for your opinion. My point was that the driver in front of me is not responsible for my getting a ticket or my not getting a ticket. It is my responsibilty and therefore should be my choice. I am fully aware that the cop won't be tearing up my ticket, but at the same time he isn't going to flag down the driver in front of me and give them a pat on the back for keeping me from speeding.

I drive the speed limit. Period. If you don't like it, too bad.

I got a speeding ticket once in my entire driving career (10 miles over posted speed limit) and it was at a time that I really couldn't afford it and the cop and the judge had no mercy on me. It is an experience I will not repeat.

This is a huge pet peeve of mine! I'm sure I'm going to get flamed for this

But in my opinion if you are too: nervous, new, elderly, etc to go at least the speed limit on an interstate, maybe shouldn't be on it.

I often see elderly people, going at least 5 miles below the speed limit, glancing around and just looking plain confused. They should not be on the road they are a hazard to the rest of us, esp if they are on the interstate with others going 80mph.

I am a speeder...I hate driving slow and have a few tickets to show for it. I certainly would never blame someone else for my "breaking the law" habits and have paid my tickets in full. I also tailgate. If someone is going below the speed limit, you better believe I'm going to tail you. I know you aren't going to speed up for me, but I'm hoping to irritate you or make you nervous. Flame away...

Come On!
Some people HAVE to drive slow in the fast lane!

You think it's EASY to type a text, answer the phone, eat a big mac, slurp a (diet) Coke, put on makeup, roll a doobie, screw with the radio, pick up that runaway frenchfry, find the burning cigarette, beat the kids, and mix a Vodka Cranberry appletinni at the same time?
Oh I almost forgot to add, DRIVE THE FREEKIN CAR.......

Geeze, you guys give me a break allready.

I have ridden with drivers who were outraged that the car in front didn't pull over so that they could speed. The attitude annoyed me. It's like expecting someone to keep their window open so that you can break into their house.

But I apologize for including you in that group.

No apology needed.

Aren't there people who make a living off of people who rear end them? Don't know if that is true but it seems like I watched a 20/20 report on this a few years back. I don't want you to fall for a scam artist who slams on their brakes on purpose.
