Slow Growing Pekin! Very worried :(

so you got him from a bin? it might not be as pure bred pekin as you think mabye?

i had a couple pekins that were medium size, and the last three i had looked like geese! massive ducks

Your doing a great job feeding and giving niacin! it would be nice to have a spec sheet on the feed but iam sure its good stuff.

I got him from Tractor Supply! I am hoping he's not pure bred which may explain the smaller size... but Tractor Supply told me they're Pekin.

You think that's enough feeding daily for both ducks? I never really changed my feeding and have used the same stuff for my previous ducks and they seemed to grow fine.

Ha, the old TSC pekns. They tell you everything is Pekins sometimes even brown ducks. He could be a white layer. Is his bill pinkish or bright orange?

Oh haha i never know... this is our first time getting Tractor Supply ducks.
Heres the picture of him i take just right now. What color do you think his bill is?

i have no idea on feed quantity, mine have food all day to eat at their own will

My last duckling at 6 weeks had adult feathers started

Here is a good picture of a white layer. It's really hard to tell from pictures but they are smaller and more pinkish. So it could be it's not a pekin

Hard to tell but I would guess layer. When I had both kinds standing next to each other, they were easy because the Pekin was Huge and had bright orange feet and legs. This little guy sure is cute but does still seem behind the curve a little if not Pekin.

I was wondering if this duck is a white layer? Feed looks good from here anyway.

Best i can do is keep the good feed, When you run out of duckling feed use a duck grower pellet, Keep up the niacin and meal worms

Cheap cat food makes awesome high protein treats too

He looks happy and healthy i have confidence he will be okay!

What do you think @Miss Lydia and @Magnolia Ducks ?
