So a little back story, I got two pekin bantam hens off a breeder. One of them was laying eggs and my dumb ass decided to see if they would hatch. 19 days later this is happening. (Pic attached). It hasn't chipped away anymore and I've been staring at it for two hours. Literally. I know it can take 24h but is there anything I can do? I'm very stressed out 😂😂😂

Are they only on day 19? That is probably just the external pip, it could take up to two more days t fully hatch. Keep an eye on the egg and watch for it ti zip, that means it will turn in a circle int eh shell and make a crack around d the middle, it will then work its way ou too the shell soon after. There ar amor detail darioles on line about the hatching process, but that is all the help I can give you! No need to stress out, your chick is doing fine, and on the way to the big big world! Keep up the good work, Avery

Yeh only day 19 so it's a bit early but I've read some people claim bantams can come early but others say that's a myth. Guess we will see. I'm very excited to see what comes out of these eggs! I just need lots of reassurance not to try to help haha! 😂 I've got myself worried he can't breathe but since he's got thay little hole he's definitely fine. 🥰

They're all sideways, the hole is at the fat end of the egg. Its been 20 hours and he's not gotten any further 🥺 but egg 2 has pipped! I think I was wrong with days and he actually pipped on day 20 and today is day 21.

YA! Hmm, have you heard anything form the external pipped egg? You should hear it peeping. Sometimes they take a bit lunge rot hatch but I'm not really the most experienced person so maybe these members can help you more with your first pipped egg. @MGG @ChickenCanoe Good luck, I hope he keeps working his way out!

First one always takes about 400 hours after pip. Well it seems like it anyway. Then once it’s hatched and cheering the others on, there’s a rush to get out.

Unfortunately chick 1 didn't survive. He definately started too early as he hadn't absorbed all his yolk and there was a lot of red veins 😔 BUT CHICK 2 HATCHED! Considering I never thought they'd actually hatch I say its a good outcome. But I bet its a boy 🤔😑
