I have 2 little poults, I think a male and female. The female runs all around and the male doesn't seem to be in a hurry to go anywhere. He just mosies along and eats bugs. He's eating and drinking, just not running around like his sister. Is this normal?

As long as he isn't always laying down, I wouldn't be too worried. A calm turkey makes a great turkey!
Altough, if he lays down and sleeps allot, I'd be worried because it COULD be an indication he isn't healthy. Just give him lots of human interaction and he'll turn out great. Some turkeys have different personalities, I had a few who were really calm and not that curious or active, but they turned out to be fine birds.

I hoped this helped>

Check his legs. One of my poults had legs that grew too far apart. Which caused him to lay down quite a bit, then he eventually died. It's common for poults to grow a leg that is turned 90 degrees, especially in turkeys that are bred for eating. Their body mass outgrows their legs, it's hereditary. This is why it's hard to raise turkeys and many people choose not to. But their great birds, and I hope this isn't your problem- I lost 4 turkey poults this year, its hard not to get attached to poults and it's sad when they don't make it. I'm not saying this is your problem- just a caution.

Coccidia could be a cause. Often poults on the ground can aquire it. It makes them weak and listless. They lose interest in food and lose weight due to poor food absorption. Treat with Corid in water. Make sure it drinks it.

Is it ok to treat after treating for blackhead? I put Fish Zole in their water for 3 days, he appears to be doing better. Can I treat for both cocci and blackhead just incase? I noticed his poop looked normal, don't know if that makes a difference in determining disease.

I bought Nutra-Drench. You can give it to them in water. For faster effect you can give it to it in beak, has molasses in it. It is full of vitamins and electrolytes, I did lose 2 out of 5, the other 3 are doing awesome.
