Thanks folks, I just hope I can get things together and get them a nice cage built and ready before they are! I guess I'll never learn. You're supposed to get the pen built, THEN get the birds. (never did it right before, no reason to start now.)

lol that's where I am...30 chicken eggs due next weekend, 49 quailies due the weekend after-ish... no where to put them all. I have a few nice big empty rabbit cages, that will make good cages for adults but the issue is where to put them when they hatch? The chicken egg donor will want the chicks, but the quails, well.. I have a rather large bathtub...lol

hello everyone i am new to this site and I wanted to ask a question . . . . I really want to raise pet quails but am not finding too much info and my sister wants egg laying chickens. If it matters she is currently looking at " showgirls" and "Silkies". Can they be housed together in a large pen with houses for each on ( small house for the quails and bigger one for the chickens) as well as seperate feeders. I am new to this so any advice would be greatly appretiated

OK . . .so WE ALL know chickens and quail cannot be housed together . . .but I (still deciding) wanna know if I can keep a couple of buttons in a 8'x15' outdoor tortoise pen with my little desert tortoise Kramer???
