Slow Night Here In Quailville

Stop And Think About It.... Birds Dont Need Much Light To See To Eat, I Dont Need Much Light To Feed, The Xmas Lights Are Rated Indoor/outdoor And I Could Run Them Long Enough To Feed And About A 1/2 HR Or So After That For The Critters To Eat.... As I Am Alone With No Help 5 Days A Week And Work Fulltime, Sometimes Obscene Hours, I Know When The Days Get Shorter I Wont Have Enough Light To Feed Ather Work And I Aint Getting Up At 430am To Do It.... So The Lights Are Quite A Good Idea And Cheap Too--- They're Only 2 Bucks A String, And You Can Daisy Chain Something Like 5 Or 6 Togather Before Getting A Circuit Overloaded... 5 Ot 6 Strings And I Can Light The Whole Place Up--- Every One Of My Pens +... And I'm Still Only Up To Maybe 12 Bucks--- I Like It

the 2 center ones and the outer one the rest had holes in it for vents its a old hova still air

I usually have to put sponges in mine to keep the humidity up as well as filling all the water slots.

Those christmas lights sound adorable! I've got a couple reptile heat lamps with daybulbs in them for my birdies. I wish I'd had esthetics in mind more. LOL. Although, for $12, I could invest with little worry. Haha.

I PUT MY LIGHTS UP TONIGHT TOO--- THE XMAS LIGHTS DO GREAT! THE CORTURNIX BREEDER PENS ARE 1 WIRE CAGE THATS 12 FT LONG X 2 FT DEEP X 2 FT HIGH--- SUBDIVIDED INTO 6 "HONEY MOON SUITES" EACH HONEYMOON SUITE HAS A QUARTET OF COTURNIX. THE STANDARD WHITE XMAS LIGHT STRING IS 2 BUCKS AT DOLLAR GENERAL WHEN THEY HAVE 'EM AND IS 26FT LONG-- I STARTED ON 1 CORNER BY ATTACHING THE MIDDLE OF THE STRING AND RUN IT ACROSS TO THE OTHER CORNER--- DOUBLE LIGHTS--- WORKS PERFECT.

that is genious..............

I Had Planned To Go To The Local Close Out Store Who For The Last 3 Years Or So Have Had The Small Under Cabinet Flourescent Lights That Can Be Run In Series And Place Them Under The Metal Roof On The Quail Pens For Breeding Lights--- Guess What They're Suddenly Sold Out

So Looking Around Here I Found An Extra Set Of The Mini Xmas Lights (all White Of Course) Something Like 140 Light String.... 30 Ft Long Rated For Indoor Or Outdoor Use--- So I Doubled It And Zip Tied It To The Front Of 1 Of My Breeder Pens--- Works Great.

Looking At My Close Out Store Today I Found Led Xmas Lights! Longer Lasting And Less Electric Use! Looks Like I May Have To Try Them Next....

The down side to fluorescent is they take a long time to get going in the cold. LED is a better choice but they are very expensive & make seeing certain colors hard.
