Single comb. I usually process mine at 11 wks. This bunch was mostly hens, but I still ended up with a 7 lb. average (including the feet and giblets). Have been getting mine from McMurray for several years and have been pleased. I live at 7300 ft. altitude, have only lost one (hen) to flip. The others living here have just gotten the jumbo broilers, losing most of them to flip well before processing time. I like my birds big and the slo grow have been very tender. My processor puts them in their cooler for three days, then I pick them up and put them in my freezers.

Hope this helps you.

By slow broilers from Murray, do you mean the Cornish Roasters? They do tell you not to try to raise the Jumbo Cornish at elevations above 5000 feet. I asked them about the Cornish Roasters and they said not to raise them at high elevations either. Glad it is working out for you as we have some property in Nevada above 5000 feet and I want to be able to raise meat chickens when we move..

Yes, the roasters. They've done well here for me. No bumble foot, no flip, no feather picking. I usually put them in one of my horse stalls (10x10) on concrete with lots of shavings. I just add more shavings until they are ready for processing, then scrape out the stall and disinfect it. Easy Peasy for me. My friends who have switched to the Roasters have been happier with less loss.
