Breakfast time is ALWAYS noisy. I'd been looking for a time when she truly acted broody. This morning, the tuk-tuk started before she left the coop. I haven't seen the fully flared out broody stance yet. Hoping to pic/vid capture that when it happens.
I would love to see that. 🥰

I got some baby chicks for Ponypoor! I need to get some new satin silkies though, unless the blue-squad (Periwinkle, Navy, and Delft) take over as broody biscuits. I also have some cochins...but I've seen too many people say Marans are demon broodies
Edit
Wow let me finish my thought

Marans are demon broodies so I likely won't encourage them to sit unless they act sweetly. I lucked out with Samara and Morinth and they have me spoiled on how broodies ought to behave.
Others here have way more experience than me with Maran’s but I had one BCM hen, she was a great mama. Absolutely wonderful with her chicks. She was of course a typical broody; fluffy & screechy but she never pecked me.

I’d be yelling, “warning Warning, we have left a Tribble! Guard the food storage receptacles!!!
This just makes me wanna find someone in California to sneak some silkie chicks in your pocket. I too was skeptical about silkies but turns out they are actually lovely not chickens.
Come home from work and noted I left my cell phone at work.

No way to keep tabs on the horses tonight! The camera app is on the phone 😟
Oh no! It’s crazy isn’t it, we all used to function just fine without them but now I can’t seem to get along with one. Especially when it comes to kids and animals.

Well it's not that a hardship - the only thing I use my one phone for is an alarm clock and the barn cams.

I can use my laptop to check the cams (and just did now I am up with my rootin tootin RLS right now). I don't get a cell signal here at the house so if anyone wants to reach me they use the land line.

Have to say I have had a cell phone since the late 80's when they first ever came out - very handy when one is out and about! It was just like a regular phone and was plugged into the car's cigarette lighter, and the phone was corded with push buttons. I still have it somewhere.

My influence in government and Kelly’s leadership in administration, and workforce tactics, ten years ago we could have ruled the world! 🌎 just a thought.

Just think of all the places we could have introduced bi-laws for allowing chicken keeping!

don't want to rule the world - too much paperwork. But ruling the backyard would be grand!
