SLW Pullet or Cockerel?

Definitely a pullet. Wyandottes develope more differently than most breeds. Some pullets develop early redness and wattles. The white patchy pattern will fix over time -typical hatchery quality. The pointy tail here doesnt mean anything here. I have one SLW that went thru the same physical appearance. Male Wyandotte’s would be more obvious at this She’s a pretty girl

Thank you! She’s a character.

Will you keep us updated with progress on her/him.... I'm not totally convinced by everyone that says pullet especially when there was another silver laced Wyandotte recently that most people said was a pullet but then agreed it was a cockerel. If it is a cockerel, you should see the start of pointed saddle feathers coming through in a few weeks, so adding more photos to the thread after Christmas would be good if you have time. Hopefully I will be wrong on this occasion.

I think you have mixed votes but my instinct went up for cockerel and time will tell. This may take up to 17 weeks or so to tell. You have been given good advice on what to look for. Larger feet, red combs and wattles that are larger, pointed saddle feathers in down position, larger longer tail, etc. If Pullet would still have pale pink combs and wattles.

To add my two cents... I think that I'm on the fence on this one. The face and wing bars say cockerel to me... But I'm willing to give it some time to see if puberty brings out male or female saddle feathers.
OP, this is what your looking for... but Xena's not there yet. Watch for this kind of growth.
