Small black chickens and a large gold one. UPDATED pg 2!!!

My friend gave me these guys as day old chicks back in June. Some were solid black as chicks and some were mostly black with a little bit of white when they were small and fuzzy. I had two yellows, I believe that they were sex linked because one had a black double diamondish shape on it's head and the other did not. A buff colored hen was their mother. My friend told me that dot head was a rooster. The one that was assumed to be a rooster survived but the other yellow chick did not. She also told me that the black chicks were some sort of game cross. I saw one of the hens and she was a saucy little onyx beauty.

So, here they are. Two of the blacks are roosters for sure with their large red combs. There is another I am not sure of because he has a squishy type comb but it is red and when the boys act silly it is right in the middle of the action. Some have regular combs and some have a rose type cone. The ones with the squishy combs also have a little color besides black. One has gold on its breast and a few others have white on their heads and in their wing feathers. Oh, and all of them are 6 weeks old.

I was wondering if any of you would hazard a guess on what sort of crosses these guys are. And I would love to know why the big gold one has feathers on the outside of his legs.

I am probably going to have to part with a few. Are these the sort of chickens that anyone would want or should my surplus go in the freezer?

The first one looks like an EE X cochin to me. Green legs with feathers, I haven't see that before. The black one with the brown/red looks like it could be a black sex link which would mean it would have to be a pullet. The males are barred white and black with a few red feathers.

I have no idea on the rest. Hope this helps.

The black ones look like my black sexlinks. One of them had some white feathers as your's do when they were 6-8 weeks old..eventually lost the white feathers. They are not black with some greenish spots on their back. They are actually my favorites.

Some of the black ones look like sex links, some of them look like australorps.

the ones with a splash of color on their chests would be the sexlinks.

I know that none of them are purebred anything.

The gold guys does not actually have green legs, the lighting was bad so that probably caused the color to be off. His legs are very yellow and the feathers on them are only on the outside.

The black ones came from two hens but they were essentially the same type, small and black. As you can see, the gold one is much larger than the others and he is the same age. Would sex links or australorps be that small?

The rooster that was down at the barn was mostly white with some pretty black and green feathers. I think he had the squishy comb.

I dont know what they are, but I really love your coop. Is it covered also? I also have some chain link runs Im turning into chicken condos, and love how you've put the hardware cloth over it. Great job there, looks like Fort Knox.

The black ones look about exactly like my black comet poullet. So, maybe their comets? I have no clue what the golden'ish one is, sorry.

I'm guessing the buff one is a buff brahma cross. I had a gorgeous roo that was huge, with just scant feathering on his legs like your chick. I always guessed he was part brahma. He wandered to my house and moved in with my hens, so we let him stay as his owners never came to get him.
