Small Coop & Run

This is my Coop and Run. The run is about 8 ft x 2.5 ft & 2.5 ft high. Is this okay for 2 chickens? As you can see in the picture the roof to the run is not on completely yet. I do plan on adding corrugated plastic roofing on top of the run, along with 2x4s on the outside of the run for structural support. & I also plan on adding plywood to all 3 sides of the bottom of the coop so the chicks can't get out from there either.

The rule of thumb is about 10 sq ft for each chicken so if there is only two I would think that it would be ok. Now are you putting the chicks in there when you get them ? I don't recommend that I would put them in a brooder first for the first 6 weeks with a heat lamp.

they will be in a brooder for about 8 weeks actually. then go out to the coop.

That's should be fine do you plan on letting them out of there run at all to roam around ?

out of the brooder? yes. I will let them out around 6 weeks during the day then back in at night. or out of the run? yes as well. I'm 16 so I'm in school August-June so they will be in the run whenever I'm not home. but mostly on warm days I'm outside so they will be out of the run free ranging on our 2 acres.
