Small DIY horizontal nipple waterer -container?

Ok so we made one for adults with a 5 gallon plastic bucket. Love it.

I want to make a tiny one for chicks what container can I use??

The tall plastic soup containers for takeout are too thin plastic will crack. It's the right size tho.

The tops of the chick feeders and waterers dont have a sealed cover so that wont work.

Want to make one what have you done?

They are making a total mess of their water in an hour with shavings, even after I elevated it.

How old are the chicks? Very young chicks (like under 2-3 weeks) cannot use horizontal nipples, and vertical ones can be drippy, so not sure how much less of a mess those would be.
