Oh goodness that is brilliant! I bet she is... I have her on just water now for about a week but due to her small space, having small chicks in house and 2 additional roosters, plus a broody, I gave her one of the only water dispensers I had left- and I really don't like this type as they tend to smell sour with the metal. I change the water 1x3 times a day but still... I am going to switch that up!Oh your poor girl. Do you know what kind of fluids she is drinking? Is an avian vet an option? Her wound does not look too bad. How does it smell?
I suspect this girl is dehydrated. If you cannot entice her to drink enough fluid, would you be open to tubing fluids? What was her laying status before the injury? Has she passed any egg material since the attack?
She is in a brooder that does not have a nest box, though I have comfy towels in the corner in a nest-ish manor and did put in a little hay the other day (did not want anything sticking her bum) it is long and private but has a view of the garden and run- the rest of the flock always hops into them when open scouting for a new place to lay (because the other 9 boxes wont due). I would think if she really had to and she could, she would be able to lay.
I will put in a thick stick standing bar for her to use till I can get her out of there. I am close to being able to switch her up but not there yet. Bravo and mahalo for the fresh thoughts and perspective!!!
Vet is a long way off and my DH would never agree to it so- at this point we are sticking it out. She actually smells pretty good. I check and switch out her towels at least 1x per day.
This morning she was itching to go out with the flock!! But we are still in the middle of some pretty good rains at the moment and for the next few days. So she has to wait for in-between downpours. Good thing I am a full time, beck-and-call pet mom.

Mazie is a 3 year old, always healthy, matriarch who still gives me in winter, 3 eggs per week. Summers, not so much. We are in our comfortable temps now even with the rains, so my girls are happy and lay gang busters in the coolness. I was thinking the trauma would stop her from laying... possibly forever especially because of age.
Oh, have a rain lull... gotta go! Thank you for your advice and good thoughts!!!
I will get some updated photos.
