Small egg in yard???

It looks like an owl's egg. Owl eggs are almost perfectly round like that. In Western Washington, we have quite a few species of owls most commonly are the Barred and Barn owls so it's likely one of those. There is a rarer chance that it could be from a Great Horned, Western Screech, or Spotted owl, but all are in the area. They start laying toward the end of January to beginning of February for spring hatching, so it's a little early but not out of the realm of possibility. I did a Google search and your egg is pretty similar to that of the Barred Owl. I've attached a picture from the Google search below for your reference. I hope this helps!

Thank you! Yes that does help me! :) Do you know what temp to incubate the egg at? I have been incubating it at 37.5 celcius. Do you know how long they take to hatch?

Hello! I was walking in my backyard, and found a little egg! I found it near my walnut tree. Does anyone know what kind of bird this egg came from? Can I hatch it? (Pics below)

You should google snake egg pictures. It could very well be snake instead of bird.

I can't seem to find specific temperatures, however I did find this youtube video that goes through the process of hatching owlets. It looks like their incubator is set to 37.5 as well and it takes between 31 and 33 days. There is an Audubon Society in Seattle who may be able to help and they may have more information. If you are successful, be sure to have plenty of mice on hand for it to eat! Best of luck!

If this is indeed an owl egg, owls are protected under the Migratory Bird Act. This makes it a federal crime to be in possession of any eggs, chicks or adult birds.

Regardless, wild bird or reptile eggs should not be incubated or taken from the wild unless you are a licensed wildlife rehabilitator.

Ok candling it... is it fertile? Or should I wait and just keep incubating it for 30 days? Also tell me if you want a different angle of the egg.
