Small eggs, Barred rocks.

So my Barred rocks are laying below average size eggs and from what I understand they are supposed to be prolific layers of above average eggs. I bought them as 11 month old hens from a Lady who ordered 25 (minimum order) from a breeder and decided to sell the barred rocks when they grew up. So will the eggs get bigger as they get older? I would think, if this is the case, they would have started laying larger by 11 months. Anyone know what the prob may be?

You will most likely see a big jump in egg size after her first molt. She should molt this fall and when she resumes laying, you should see an increase in size. My hatchery BR lays a jumbo sized egg and is still laying 5-6 per week at 4 years old.
