Small Eggs- Large hen

I was wondering if anyone could tell me how long it takes a chicken to start laying eggs of the proper size for their breed? My BSL started laying on July 4th. She isn't laying every day which I expected. But when she does lay she lays a perfect egg the size a bantam would lay. I have never had this happen before with my chickens when they started laying. So I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas why this could be.

She's probably just off to a slow start. We have a few gals that laid very small eggs for the first few months. Give her some time, she's new at this.
