My favorite hen (White Plymoth Rock) is laying very small wind eggs. She used to lay the biggest and most consistent eggs. What is happening? She is just under 2 years old. My chickens are free ranging and well fed including oyster shells. They have a nice secure coop. Even if she doesn't lay another egg, I'm afraid she will have to stay as a pet.

They normally lay small eggs when they are young, or older like yours when they are going to stop, and probally get ready to molt. After so many big ,good eggs thier body needs a rest for awhile She will lay big eggs again...
