small eggs

Hi i raised some marans, and buff orpingtons this year and gave them scrambled eggs every day. they grew i think too fast and were grown at 4 months and trying to lay. I have had the bo pullets since Oct. and their eggs are still small.
I feed oats in the morn and scratch at night and they have layer all day. Have i ruined them for life with to much protien?

Nope, don't worry....egg size will increase after the first molt. Pullet eggs are sometimes smaller than we want, however you can still enjoy the delicious flavor of homegrown eggs. Go ahead and have 4 instead of 2...too much fun eh?
