I’ve tried many methods to keep predator loss to a minimum, but the losses to foxes, coyotes, raccoons, and rats just kept happening. What's worked best for me is a small polywire solar electric fence setup, Just a couple of just a couple polywires low to the ground are enough. I’ve had a game camera set up to monitor the area, and every predator that comes to investigate gets a quick zap and they are on their way.
This setup works great chicken tractors too. As a bonus you can hook a couple sprinklers like headlights on their front of that thing it will be laying down grass/food for them as you move it!

I am considering doing something like this. Have you had any problems with the electricity jumping to the chicken wire?
As other stated, as long as the hot-wires arent in contact with anything conductive. Does take a bit of trial and error, but my experience shows me that it is more effective than other methods. Burying hardwire cloth works, but they will keep coming back and testing, digging until they get through. It's also a miserable job burying that stuff, and if you ever want it out?!?!

The fence makes them move on to the neighbors for a meal. It's a true "deterrent" rather than a barrier.
