Small incubator

I recently got way too excited about spring and ordered several shipments of hatching eggs. I have an incubator that holds 40 and I ordered enough to totally fill it.... Of course forgetting that most people are awesome an send a couple extras. They all seemed to do pretty well in shipping, and they're kind of expensive eggs. So of course I want to incubate all of them. I have 8-10 extra and so now what? I really don't think I'm going to ever need two 40 egg incubators, so it doesn't seen to make sense to buy another one, and another turner etc. Anyone had any luck with a really small incubator? For 12 eggs or less?

maybe you can store the extra eggs for 5-7 days, then candle the 40 and toss the bad one and add the rest??

Now that's a pretty good idea. I see the brinsea recommended everywhere but there is no way I can pay that much on a whim...

Although lots of the eggs I ordered are marans so candling them will be hard

Could you do hand turning for a couple of days? Can you stack them all in somehow at first then candle and toss like granny hatchet suggested? Maybe make a styrofoam cooler one quick? The Little Giant types at TSC are probably the smallest cheapest easy to find incubators, some people have good luck with them, you could start the extra eggs in something like that and then transfer over to the better one?

Yea honestly my 40 egg one is kit the little giant. And it's done really well for me the past two years. I could grab another... But I just would rather save my money and buy a nicer one in the future if it looks like I'm going to make hatching 50 at once a habit...

I could take the egg turner out., squeeze them all in and hand turn for a week, candle and toss, then put the turner back in with what's left

its not going to hurt them to touch but if you dont have a turner , you will have to move fast turning them so its not open too long.
