Small pet/rodent thread! Mice, rats, hamsters, gerbils, etc!

I had two mice...until the cat let them out to play
I kept mice to breed for feeders.

I. LOVE. HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *bounces up and down like a little kid* can you pet him? Is he snuggly? What do you have to do to take care of him? Pics of your setup?

Oh! I love the questions! He tolerates pets when he is super relaxed and quills are down and hes not all hissy like this

Spiky quills don't feel to great...He has a super soft underbelly though, and when his quills are lying flat they feel really neat. He's super easy to handle now that I've had him for about 8 months and with lots of hands on interactions.

Boy oh boy is he a handful to take care of though! Hedgies are very needy and kind of complicated, if you want more in depth info on them I'd love to share what I know!!

I'm about to go and take some pics of his cage set up (I'm constantly updating his cage and I don't have any recent pics haha) and feed him (they're nocturnal so he gets fed pretty late when he wakes up).

I just realized you asked if he's snuggly, and the answer is absolutely yes, he LOVES pockets, hair to nuzzle in, crooks of elbows or knees, and laps especially with blankets.

Sorry for the awful pictures, i had to work fast because he doesn't like the light on, being nocturnal and all so he's hiding in his little bed. Which is just a big mound of tiny felt blankets, old washcloths, and a few fluffy socks that lost their pair

He has all those toys in there because he loves to just redcorate his cage and roll things around, so if he has lots of moveable things he stops trying to tip over his litter box (yes he's litter trained!!)

His cage is a little small for my liking, so for now he gets some free time on the floor with me or in a little ball pit with lots of toys in to roam around in so he's not bored or cramped.

Dude, I really only started looking on different forums trying to find goat people to ask a simple question for a future goat owner, but now I'm lost on a side of byc I didn't know existed

Have you tried Backyard Herds? It's not as active as BYC, but it has a whole goat forum.

I have not. I'll check it out. Man, there's a website for everything, I recently found one that's set up just like byc but dedicated to hedgehogs! There's even active vets on there since sometimes vets in certain areas aren't specialized with such an uncommon pet.
