Small quail cage build

Finished my “Quail Jail” I feel like I need to make a themed set now, like have a hospital, and not sure what a third one could be lol. (The quail I put in it was just for the photo lol). Just waiting on food/water dishes to come in, and car door edge covers (as suggested by @FloorCandy suggested)

I needed to get it done ASAP as my quail were growing too fast and my previous cage was a POS. I was planning on putting duct tape over my edges but your idea sound WAY better.

I used duct tape at first, but it needs to have like 3 layers or I could still feel the pokers. Then after a few weeks of humidity and dander the tape was coming off. The car trim is so easy and you do it once and done, I wish I thought of it sooner. I had a rat cage back in the day from martins cages, and they use a similar method, so I copied it as best I could.

Edit: doors are time consuming and tiring when you get to the end and are ready to be done already. I have a few tricks for speeding it up, I cut the wires and use the edging you use to protect car doors to cover the edges, I bought 25 yards on amazon for like $15. Then for doors I use cookie cooking racks, which are like $6 for 2 racks at target, big lots, etc.

Stealing this great idea. Just bought the car door edge covers!
