Small spaces

We have run into a small problem. Requiring us to house our hens without a coop. It’s temporary but what is the minimum sleep space per chicken. We dont have roost bars available inside. They would be outside pre dawn thro sunset to roam and play. We just had a hick up with the housing. We have various breeds and they are about 9 weeks old. Would it be upsetting to let them sleep alone? Or could i put two to an area? I have several sleeping options just not a coop.

x2 on sawhorses. Though I'm a little confused on the question overall. You want around 1 linear ft per bird on roost in "sleep space." I'd rather provide them with a few sawhorses than try to... house them sleeping on the floor? Not sure if I'm reading things right.
