Smartest breed of chicken

What breed of chicken do you think is the smartest? I think my Langshans are pretty smart.

Well I know those who keep American Gamefowl consider their birds to be the smartest but I think the smartest breed of chicken is any land race breed. My Araucanas are extremely intelligent.

I kind of think that breeds that are a bit more skittish are more intelligent than those that are very trusting.

x2 the only land race breed I have kept is Egyptian Fayoumi and they definitely out shined my other chickens.

I consider Games to be the most intelligent. What other breed could become feral and survive?

Fayoumis, Hamburgs, ect.. are also blessed with common sense.

LOL, I'm not sure if the smartest people could become feral and survive. I think the smartest breeds are those that can discern similarities from differences.

Probably my Old English Game Bantams. They’re very sweet, but also really curious and smart. They seem to be more aware of the world around them.

From my observations, my bantams in general seem to be a bit quicker on the uptake than my large fowl birds. This could simply be a result of the large fowls being lazier, as most of my LF breeds are heavier, slower-moving ones. I haven't noticed a variation in intellect based on breed, personally. There are smarter and, well, dumber individuals of most of the breeds I've owned. I wouldn't say any are outright dumb, however.

I admit that this opinion could be from the experience of owning other poultry, though, because anything looks intelligent when you compare it to Guinea fowl. (I'm joking--please don't hurt me, Guinea people! )

American Games, hands down. They can do the feral bit, learn quicker and more than any breed I am familiar with, and they are flexible in their behaviors. They can be calm or flighty, depending on stimulus and the birds experience.

American Games are effectively a land race.

I use to raise gamefowl for years and I raised rampuri asils for quite awhile and the rampuri were the smartest breed I ever came across
