Smelly chick

My broody has been sat on eggs for 25 days and today 1 hatched. Once it hatched I noticed how bad it smelt? Any reasons why it would smell so bad?

25 days is 4 days past normal incubation. My guess is that several eggs in the clutch are rotten and may be about to explode. I would try to remove the rotten eggs before that happens.
