Ok so I got chickens and geese coming out my ears but I can figure out a way for us to be gone 2 days 1 night. Thats a big deal for us. We have the dogs too. Anywho, I thought it would be great to take my dad and my husband on a little weekend get away. Get the kiddies in the creek or a pool. Everyone can relax after working our bums off lately. We had a dog die today. My dad thinks its from the heat and that could have played into it but he was also a very very old dog. He laid down in the shade, It looked like he took a nap and just never woke up. Upsetting but not totally unexpected. He was one of two dogs we have that I expect we will lose this year. Both are very old and they have some issues. Well my dad has a young dog that stays outside mostly. Which dad hates but the dog just would not give in when we tried house training. Not for anything. He wants to bring the dog and his little kennel with us. Few hotels that are nice enough to stay in but affordable enough for me to rent are available. I found one place that would do at it was almost $600 for 2 nights by the time we added all the little surcharges and such.

My sister lives down the hill but she won't water or feed her own animals, we do hers, so I highly doubt she would do dads dog. All the other animals we already worked things out but he wants his dog. Frustrating but I am not giving up. I am down to calling the hotels I am interested in and begging or dressing the dog up as an extra kid.

Oh and btw do you know there were a ton of hotels not available because we have a baby. Apparently 1 infant exceed their the number of infants allowed. Thats a poopy dang attitude.

So you feed and water your sister's animals but she can't take care of the dog for two days? That's pretty crummy. What about a pet sitter? Or a local highschool or college kid that would come twice a day? That's what we do. Hope you're able to make it to the Smokies. I'm so thankful that I live so close to such beauty.

The only neighbor really near us that we know is not keen on animals other than the tiny yappy pedicured kind. We are very rural. I do need to find someone at some point I guess.

I would do your best to find someone you can trust... even if it's just a friend that says this person is trustworthy. It's better to find out how they do on a short trip first.
