Smoky Mtn East TN

@redridge, what are you wanting for your group of or for each of your Belgium bearded D'Uccles? and do you have any pics of roo and pullets? My d'uccle cockrel is starting to stress my pullet as she only one with. I had to separate them together because sultan mixes picked on her for being younger than rest maybe too but probly mostly cause was debeaked, done by hatchery.
The four of them together are $35, $30 if you just want the three girls... although I need to know that pretty quickly as I'm in the process of integrating them with the production layers since I am out of room. They will are in a pen in a pen and will be integrated Thurs night unless I hear otherwise.
The picture a few messages up in this thread is the one who has hatched chicks for me twice now.
The 3 younger ones were born in April... I have pics of them, but am having trouble posting them this morning for some reason.
PM me and I will email them to you if you send me an email.

I don't know if its local or close enough for anyone on here but Fox Feeds in Jefferson City is having a chicken swap/trade day. If I am not mistaken its on August 31st. I am sure you can call for more information if you want.

Powell/Karns We have 45-50 mix of Easter egger, Bared rocks, black australorp, "My wife's" Welsummers, "my" salmon faverolle, and my 10 year old daughter has her silkies, a few odd and end breeds mixed in too! My wife got us started now me, my 10 year old daughter and 4 year old son are all hooked! we set for hours just feeding and watching the chickens! I sure none of you other chicken folks do that.........right? I find the chickens very relaxing, who knew? we are trying our hand at breeding and hatching not got the hang of it quite yet, but fun is had by all. We got in to this with the thought of teaching the kids to know where their food came from, and be respectful of what we have been blessed with. They help get eggs, round up the occasional stray, feed, water, clean, ect..... We have only been doing this since Jan. of this year, but I see this being a life long thing now! We sale a few eggs here and there to offset the cost of feed, we have thinned the flock of extra roosters and the taste was far better than store bought meat, that goes for the taste of the eggs also, I don't know if it is for real or just the mental part of knowing what, where, how your food was treated, and where it came from, or knowing the work that went into it????? Whatever the case We love our birds here in TN!
Welcome...such a cute little one!

Well a fellow dropped off an old white gsd today that answered an ad about on Craig'slist, and brought some Americana eggs, and think two of at least out of six fresh ones, are fertile. so i put them under my muscovy feathered fury of a broody and hoping for best of luck. she has taken them in so far but vast difference seemed confusing at first

well now couple days after set LF EE under broody scovy, found good sized piece of blue shell and membrane on opposite side of coop length wise. checked nest today as she was off for sec, and only have four LF EE eggs out of six, and maybe few as sixteen out of possible eighteen counted. About at least half dozen eggs made up of duck and chicken were yucked up like couple eggs had exploded.

Suppose any of eggs would be any good when candle on thurs (I'm trying not to mess with her too much as she gets franticly after me, and worried she will break delicate LF EE eggs compared to her much stronger scovy eggs)?

gotta get a bator anyway maybe, as bantam EE hen started laying med eggs, so small multi colored hens laying decent eggs of varying colors consistently, as well as free ranging and confinement abilities, roo crows soft and not too much, heat and cold comfort, with that She wants to brood like I've only seen in silky, cochin, and OEG, makes her maybe babies a project. Id been letting the bantam EE pair out early with OEGB hen trio, and been seeing her coming out of scrub ect after hearing cackling, so started seperating the EEs at night and keeping them in longer when remember last few days for longer, and now getting eggs in their nest box.

Anyone else local got feedback on hatchery and/breeder stock of bantam and standard EEs and ameraucana that they keep?

its been years since I bought any EEs from a hatchery, a lot of years. The last EEs I bought from someone that got them from Murray McMurray. If you get a bator and want some EE eggs I can probably get some from my mother-in-law. She has the offspring from mine. I lost my EE rooster a month or so ago and don't have a replacement yet. Just send me a PM if you decide you want some eggs.

I can't help with the egg question. I know my Orp broke some eggs and only had 2 to hatch. good luck

It kills me to do this, but it has to be done. I have 5 male pekins I am needing to trade off. I am looking for chickens, or other poultry. I am assuming all are male 1 maybe a female but I doubt it. I also have 1 male Indian runner I want to trade for another Indian runner.I can't bred him to his sisters. You will have to Puck then up as my car is over heating

also they are about 14 weeks old give or take. i hatched these guys from eggs. The Indian runner is black. I can't post pictures here the site does not agree with my phone. Send me a message if you are interested.
