Smooth feathered silkies ??

I got 6 silkies & 3 have smooth feathers. Does this mean they are mixed ?

The lady I got them from left for vacation for week, plan on calling when she returns ask her for more info when she returns .

yeah not pure silkies. either has somehting else in pen with them or has a project of some kind.

There was a Cochin & a frizzle in w/ them other than that all silkies & the only Rooster was silkie. Would that produce the half smoothies lol they have fuzzy legs one has lil fuzz on top head

Yeah that would be the answer- cochin or frizzle was the mother of the smoothies at least. They are just about perfect representation of what a typical silkie cross looks like.

Oh ok thanks a bunch!!! These are my first lil guys so it didn't occur to me to ask why some were diff ..she threw the smoothies in for free w/ the fluffy guys. I'm excited about having them all. All the other silkies she had were super fluffy ..any idea what age I will be able tell if my lil fluffies are more silkie or cross ?

Crosses with silkies always throw smoothies.. so the fuzzy three should be pure silkie and grow up all fuzzy

Oh we certainly will! I would love to kno what sex they are but I've heard it takes awhile so I'm gonna enjoy them while they are still a mystery!
