Snails in poop

Since no one else has experienced this, I guess I'd better check with the vet. They could have an infection antibiotics could fix. Thanks for your responses. If anyone else sees this thread and knows what's going on, please let me know.

No comment on that it might not be poop but crop contents?

I appreciate your thoughts. Because you mentioned the crop, I looked into how to identify problems there. I can't tell from looking at the chickens if there is anything wrong. Next time my daughter comes over, I'll ask her to hold the chicken while I feel around. But I think it's time for the vet, because I don't know enough to figure this out. Thank you!

They can't throw up like we do, but liquid can come up out of their crop if it's overfull.
It's just odd that there is so little other matter with the shells, what makes me think it's not poop but crop leak.
Did you see the bird poop this out?
Was it a one time thing or is it still happening?

I haven't seen it happen. It's been going on since spring. I told myself it was some wild birds. I haven't seen any liquid seeping from their beaks. The discharge I find on the ground doesn't smell like anything.

So it's hard to say if this stuff even came from your chickens?
Do you find them frequently, in areas your chickens are in, during the day or over night??
Wonders if some other critter is leaving these 'gifts'?
