Are snails ok to feed to chickens?

I don't see why not. They're bugs of sorts and if the chickens found them while free-ranging they (the snails) would be history. I know ducks love slugs and they're the same kind of creature. My MIL had ducks just to eat the slugs eating her garden.

If they can swallow it, they will eat it.
The worst thing to watch them eat is a frog. Mine beat the frog into submission first by banging it against the nearest solid object.

Wow. That's one heck of a visual....Not a good day to be the frog.

For my 4 - 1 Sussex, 1 Medici, 2 fayoumi, snails are their secret passion! Well, secret up to a few weeks ago. Now as soon as they see me with a bowl in my hand they race to the fence and go frantic.

However, this part of their diet seems to affect their droppings -making them runny and darkish. So I have restricted snails to about twice a week. May even reduce that to once per week.
My system is to break up the shells of the larger snails. The chicks devour everything as the shells are good for egg laying too.
