I'm glad to hear your husband's doing better! Thank God you posted here and got (and followed) the appropriate advice to convince him to go to the hospital. It could have turned out much worse! Who knew that BYC, in addition to being fun and informative, could literally be a life saver?

It's snake season around here too. My DW saw a baby rattler on our back patio yesterday, but it got away before she could kill it (I was at work unfortunately). We're on the look out now.

Now that things are settling down some, would you like to preserve and mount the snake skin? My son and I did that with a copperhead roadkill when he was little in scouts. Something involving kosher salt and neatsfoot oil. Turned out rather well. How's DH's sense of humor for that?

Thank goodness he's going to be ok! Venomous snakes are a scary thing and nothing to be ignored. Like a pp said, even non-venomous bites can be bad--I was bitten by a Solomon Island ground boa and my finger looked like it had been slammed in a car door. And it stayed that way for a month. Tell him all of us here want to see his Yoohoo jammie pants--that's his punishment for not going to the hospital straight away!

He is OK, got him home around 2 30 yesterday afternoon. He then had to go check out his babies, the 3 bantam cochins. Then to the hen house. Then check on the new babies in the bathtub..........that is my make shift brooder for now. He was sooooooooooo glad to be home. he got a little nitchy with me yesterday and asked me where I learned to count 19 from 48 is 29 in my book anyday and he wanted to argue with me. I told him i do know the way BACK to the hospital I CAN take you back.

He is back to normal!!!!!!!!!!!!!
