Snake net catches another one. (pictures)

I doubt anyone intends for them to die slowly, that is pretty cruel. But unless people go out multiple times, night and day to check nets, they aren't going to know a snake it trapped. And if you find one trapped in a net, it will surely be very angry, so how would you deal with it? It would be a tricky thing, for me at least. Ick!

I have quite a few toads around my place at night and I have seen a few "Blue-Tail Lizards" during the day, I also have my old kitty. She wont eat the mice anymore, but she still kills them. I have seen a few Bull Snakes, but not close to my place, they wouldn't be too bad I guess... as long as I didn't see them http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-scared001.gif

No it takes a while to die from dehydration, not one day a couple days at least. Try it yourself.... stay out in the sun all day tomorrow with no liquids and if you want to really experience it have somebody hog tie you so you can only struggle. Not a pretty idea huh? When we used deer netting over our pens I have cut them out of the netting and saved them a horrible death, you would be suprised how tight it gets around the snake. Do you know a snake has scales and can't back out of the netting? Think about it, your only way to possible freedom is to try to escape forward and that makes you more tangled. That is the stuff of nightmares and horror movies. Like I said before if you feel the need to kill them then do it, needless suffering makes the person that inflicts it what????

Steve

I agree on animals not suffering but it looks like the OP had not yet said what they did with the snake, if it was dead or if they had to kill it. I think most people use the netting to keep out birds of prey. Not to in-humanely kill snakes

I am just sayin...doesn't look like anyone has said they have just left them there to suffer and die. Personally, when it comes to snakes need to educate myself b/c I could not tell the difference between venomous and non-venomous so as of now I wouldn't take the chance for me my kids or my pets. Oddly we have lived here for 3 years and no seen one snake on the property, just near the road so thankfully I haven't had to make that decision.

Dumb ? What is a snake net? I have black snakes thateat my eggs ever day, but he chickens are still in a stall (and out daytimes). Am budding a pen and sure would like to keep the snakes out!

I use the deer netting that you can purchase at tractor supple for birds of prey but I have personally caught a huge snake in it as well. I think it's about $20.00 for a roll of it.
