Snake!

So I've begun letting my bantams out for periods of time during the day while I sit with them. They enjoy running around as y'all know. Well around 7 pm I had been doing such and had to finish up some things before dark. I managed to get everybody but 2 sumatras back in the pen... They are a little hard to catch. I figured at dusk they would settle on or around the pen and I could put them away. Just at dark I approached the pen and sure enough the 2 were huddled next to each other near the door. As I approached I noticed on top of the cage and within about a foot of the resting birds was this huge snake about to strike. I was just in time! Just goes to show once again you can't turn your back for hardly a second or something is after your stuff.

Depending on type of snake, as you obviously are not scared, consider selling it on Craigslist
or ebay. If you are very lucky it's venomous and will fetch good money from "milkers" just a
thought. RR

I would check state laws before doing anything like selling it. You may get into serious trouble by selling a wild caught snake.

Wouldn't even consider selling it. I brought it in the house and put it in a pillow case to carry it down the road to relocate it. Dang thing went crazy and scared me and I dropped it letting it loose in the living room. It was quite a site for about 10 minutes trying to catch it again. I took it down the road to the national forest and released it.

It's not a poisonous snake. A king snake, chicken snake, whatever ya wanna call it. I just know it had a bead on my sumatras.
