we noticed we were getting fewer eggs and I think I found out why. My husband found a black snake behind the nest box trying to eat an egg that had rolled there. Today when I went to collect eggs there were 2 fewer than usual and I saw a black snake hanging on the opposite wall. How do you all get rid of snakes? We live in the woods and of course they do, too. Hate them.

I am not sure, but I heard or read (can't remember) that they don't rehome well.

Is your coop predator proof? If you add pics of the inside and outside some of us can offer suggestions.

Believe it or not but 'Snake-A-Way' works great, as long as it's dry...not raining. It really stinks....just apply it around the parimeter of the pen/run. It is a little expensive but it does work.
Wally World or HD, Lowe's, etc carry it. I think TSC also carries it.
Other than that 1/4" HC is about the only thing that will keep them out, unless they come into the pen through a rat hole from outside of the pen.
