In the Brooder
Hello,
I noticed today that my five month old red frizzled Cochin bantam is sneezing more than usual. She is sneezing every ten seconds or more. Her face is also a little paler than usual, like it is when she is falling asleep. When I went over to the coop all the chickens usually get up to greet me, but today she just layed down in the corner and sneezed. I picked her up to see if her beak and nostrils were alright, and there was nothing out of the ordinary, but when she had enough and flew out of my arms, she layed down again. I think her legs are fine because I did see her walking normally for a few seconds before she layed down again. She just started laying about a week ago. I have been away for the past week so I don’t know when this started, but the person taking care of my chickens said she was less active then her sister, but not to the point of something being wrong. Her breathing is normal, no wheezing or chirping.
I’m really worried it’s some kind of respiratory infection. Can someone tell me what’s going on with her? Should I take her to the vet? Is there something I can give her?
Thank you so much for any information.
