Sneezing, crusty nares - vet can't find anything wrong!

Well I don't know, but lets hope it's something simple. so you don't have to put her through more or spend money you don't have. You mean she got into the spoiled cat food?

No, she just got exposed to it. To make a long story short my husband was at work and I had to drive my cat to the vet for an emergency tail suture, and so she came with me and got exposed to the spores and probably breathed them in. She was in the passenger seat, where the bag was, so she was only about 2-3 feet away from the spore-bomb I found under the bag when I went to clean it out after the fact.

If it is the cat food Amykins, then the antibiotics and ACV should help. Hope she feels better soon.

Antibiotics won't do diddly for a fungal infection, sadly. :/ She's going back to the vet tomorrow for her first de-worming and they'll take a culture.

I mean, for the most part, she seems great, she's growing, eating and peeping like a...well, a Call Duck! It's just the sneezing and head shaking that worries me. I've even taken my small foot massager and run it gently along her chest and back to see if it'll dislodge anything that may be caught in her esophagus or windpipe. She even seemed to enjoy her little physical therapy treatment! :p

Amykins are you in the USA, it's wonderful you have a vet knowledgeable about waterfowl, so many don't. I don't understand why she needs wormed though, ducks have a pretty good defense against internal parasites. high body temp for one.

Yeah, WA state is full of agriculture, so I'm VERY happy to have found a vet that is experienced with both chickens and waterfowl! She treats turkeys, too. :p

I think the worm treatment is because we live in such a wet area. We have a huge flea population because of the humidity and lush wooded environment, so I think that has something to do with it. Fleas usually aren't a problem for ducks, but the worms they transmit can be. Also they love to eat slugs, one of nature's favorite targets for parasite transportation. I agree that I don't think it's necessary when she's just 10 days old, but...that's what the vet recommended. :/ She said all ducks and chickens should be de-wormed twice a year. And my cats have...wait for it - fleas! I'm a vet assistant, I know a lot about snakes, cats and dogs, but I'm no bona-fide vet, so all I can do is go with the flow.

She's doubled her weight!! She was 33 grams at hatch, she's now 64. <3

Also apparently the de-worming was to expel protozoa and any other parasites, not just worms, as a sort of last-ditch thing to fix her sniffles without upsetting her gut bacteria. The vet's one smart cookie! Since she's doing so well, she decided that we should just keep an eye on her, and that the sneezing may just be...a thing she does. I still wish I knew the cause, but as long as Wobbles is healthy and happy, I shouldn't fret over it so much.

Sounds to me this vet knows her stuff, And sounds like Wobbles is growing and doing great. How is the sneezing?

Hasn't stopped. But she only has these sneezing fits 7-10 times a day, and there aren't any other symptoms. So I don't think it's any sort of disease at this point, but I gotta keep a close watch on her either way.
