Please help this first timer. I'm in SLouisiana and it's been really wet and hot and humid. 3 1/2 month old pullet is sneezing, closing one eye off and on.
She free ranges with 6 others. I've heard Tylan 50 in their water-is this what I should do?
I need advice please.

Hi @CoolD :frow Welcome To BYC

Can you post some photos or a vidoe of your pullet?

Is the eye swollen with discharge or pus?
Any mucous with the sneezing?

There can be several causes of sneezing every once in while, dry dusting bedding/feed, molds and clearing the nares (nostrils) can be common. If she is just sneezing now and again, watch her to see if there is a pattern - does she sneeze during/after eating/drinking, when bedding has been raked or changed, etc.

Respiratory illness symptoms include coughing, sneezing, runny nose (mucous), facial swelling, eyes that are watery/bubbly have pus or discharge. Birds usually go off feed and are lethargic. There are several with similar symptoms - Infectious Bronchitis, Mycoplasma, ILT and Coryza are fairly common. Treating with antibiotics will only help with secondary infections. Most respiratory illnesses also make birds and the flock they live with carriers of the illness for life.

Injectable Tylan50 is available at most feed stores - it would need to be administered to each bird by injection or it can be given orally. The Tylan you are looking for that goes in the water is powdered and by prescription only - so contact your vet if you are wanting to treat the whole flock through their watering system.

I had one i treated one month ago and she fully recovered. Now I have one that just started sneezing.... maybe some slight clear discharge from nose but it maybe the dried vetrx i used yesterday as well. Seems fine otherwise.... should i treat now or wait for other symptoms
