Cedar shavings are toxic to birds, especially chicks that are in a brooder, VOC's (VOLATILE ORGANIC COMPOUNDS) are released by cedar shavings. Hard wood or pine shavings are the preferred bedding material.In their former spot they had wood shavings as their bedding in a box. I haven’t put that back in yet… should I?
