In their former spot they had wood shavings as their bedding in a box. I haven’t put that back in yet… should I? Or can some chickens be allergic to wood shavings? Thank you for helping me.

Cedar shavings are toxic to birds, especially chicks that are in a brooder, VOC's (VOLATILE ORGANIC COMPOUNDS) are released by cedar shavings. Hard wood or pine shavings are the preferred bedding material.

Good to know! I’m currently using pine shavings from TSC.
