Snotty kitties **UPDATED POST VET TRIP!

Oh, they're cute. They don't look very sick. i've seen way, way worse.

did you have their ears checked? They look a little dirty.

Thanks! They're such good kitties. Both were really shy when I got them, but now they're lap snugglers. The picture of Fagin (B/W) was taken not long after he got here. He was pretty cruddy. They've been on Advantage (the one that does fleas, heartworm and ear mites) since August. All ears are looking much better. Plus they've gotten better at grooming each other now that it's just the two of them.

They don't look sick or act sick. They just wheeze and sneeze periodically.

Nope. I'm still trying to get a vet appointment. I hoping to take them in Saturday morning.

They're less wheezy tonight though. Probably by the time they go to the vet they'll be totally fine and the vet will look at me like I'm crazy. That's generally what my pets do.

Thanks for checking on them though!

Hi. Your kitties probably will not get well on their own. they probably need a different antibiotic. It is important to get them over this because this illness can become chronic. Noisy breathing (noise in the chest) can mean pnemonia .You might also have them tested for FIV (feline immuno-defficiency virus) as if they are positive for this condition, they probably cannot be cured of the sniffles or at least not easily. Testing can be done at the vets via a blood test. Hope they get well.

not to be rude at all, but if you read the whole thing you would know that they have tried two different antibiotics, and both cats tested negative for FIV. thats why most of us have come to the conclusion that its viral.

i will check in again on monday then, i hope everything goes well for your snotty kitties! i think a can of tuna might be in order, lol.

The silly little kitties won't eat the tuna (although my indoor cat acts like I'm serving him kitty crack- I swear his little eyes roll back in his head as he gobbles it up!). Dodger did happily attack part of a crusty roll that I threw to the chickens this morning. He happily gnawed at it for a while before he got distracted and ran off. He's a goof!

I still haven't been able to get ahold of the vet (my weird schedule and theirs). I did find the number for the other vet I have in mind. Surely I'll be able to get ahold of one of them this afternoon. I'll keep you posted!

if that vet isnt helping find another vet. and if that doesnt work try doing some research. sorry if i wasnt any help cuz im no expert

Thanks for helping anyway!

Hopefully the new vet will figure it out. I hate that they are wheezy with it so cold out. Thankfully it doesn't seem to stop them. It's 20-something degrees outside and they were out there rampaging around when I got home. Silly boys.
