We have over a foot of snow in our yard, so knowing the girls don't care for it, I didn't bother letting them out of the covered coop area. So yesterday I opened it up to change the water and 3 decided to fly out, they went their usual 10-15 feet and then sank!!!! What a riot, all three just sat their and looked at me, like now what? I went and collected them all...today we have a melt down so the path to the coops is down to grass (and mud) again, so they are happy!

I let mine out when there is snow or not, they get used to it.

I do shovel a path to the coop to open up - and if the snow is deep they'll stick to the path.

We had some snow and it iced over a bit on top. My Polish's were all outside bobbing their tuffy heads and sliding about like absolute fools. What a laugh! I let them do it for a bit because it was so silly then went to put them on firm ground. It was like that scene from bambi...
