SNOW SUCKS- how much is in your area

bubkus in alabama today. yesterday we had a brief flurry though! It was exciting,,, everybody rushed to the store for the obligatory bread, milk and toilet paper. It lasted about 2 minutes. We would roll over and die down here if we had the kind of snow you guys are getting! But it is painfully cold!!! The high today was only 31, and thats pretty nippy for us.

We have had about 4-5 inches, but the really bad part is the wind chill- tonight it will be down to -5* ! For NE Kentucky, that is pretty cold!

We were only suppose to get a dusting, but ended up being almost 2" and the COLD is just terrible . . .suppose to be 9 tonight and don't think it got above 11 today. MIserable going out to take care of the critters, but they are all smiles!!! Alpacas love cold. . .even the pyrs are wagging their tails and being happy!!!!

the snow has been so bad in fall branch tn, that nieghbors can't get their trash outta the back of their trucks and carry it to the dumpster.... lol .... even if it has been there for month plus....

ha, if you guys think its cold where you are, it supposed to be -33F today with the windchill, 50km winds from the North. Tonight its going down to -30F WITHOUT the windchill

I'm not going to make fun of you folks in the south saying how cold it is (even if some of the lows you have are warmer than our highs

) It all comes down to what you are used to. And in some cases, I think I would freeze more in your temps because it's that wet bone cold stuff. Just try to stay warm!

I feel for you, ChickieBooBoo! We haven't had anything colder than -15F yet this year... And so far (knock on wood) it's been warmer than the predictions.

We have about 30" on the ground right now... when it starts in the fall, it's pretty much here until spring. Not the 'snow, melt away, snow again' a lot of folks get. More like 'snow, clear the roads, winds blow it back on, snow some more'. Getting exciting pulling out into traffic, the snow piles from the road crews make it so you can't see if anything is coming. Piles all over Walmart's parking lot that are about as high as a semi but longer and wider, fewer parking spots as a result. Same in a lot of parking lots in town.
