Trying to get the teenage coop done so we can get these 4-6 week olds outside with more room (and the day-olds and not quite feathered out ones more room inside), but between the wind this week and the SNOW on the ground today, I don't think they are going out for at least another week

We had a mild winter (very little snow) so now we're having the cold and wintery spring. The snows the last week have just been a dusting, but enough to keep me from moving the chickens from the garage to the coop. Today, though I decided that since there is no snow in the forecast for the foreseeable future (ie: the next week) out they go! I set up a second heat lamp to monitor temps in my insulated coop, and even when it's 25 at night I can keep the coop at 65. Add the body heat of the chickens and I'll probably have to turn the heat lamp down.
