I had 7 Snowflake eggs laid by my only female. She had interest in her eggs in that she would sit an hour or two here and there. After a few days I can tell she wasn't serious about being broody. I do have two broody Gambel's who were happy to brood the eggs which they did a great job, but by day 23 only one chick hatched. Chick with a bit of toe curling, but not bad. The chick is a week old, eats/drinks and acts normal, but it has hardly grown at all and has tiny wing feathers beginning. The chick should be growing fuller but it looks like it just hatched. Poop seems normal too. No pasty.
Chick active, has powerful loud chirps, eyes bright/alert. Weight 8g
Water: encouraged to drink often even though the chick is drinking. Just making sure.
Fresh water with additives: NurtiDrench, electrolytes, probiotics
High protein quail starter with Crushed meal worms.
Guessing the Gambel girls, who shared the nest together just couldn't get the humidity high enough.
