Snowflake Bobwhite Quail Anyone?

Quote: good to know. I was wondering, I only read it from one person's page and nothing else.
I figured Gunrunner's page would have something about it if it were true.
But I thought I would ask just in case someone else that hatches snowflake noticed it.

I have a few eggs in the incubator now that are supposed to hatch Friday but I'm not holding my breathe.
I forgot to plug in the turner for the first 2 weeks. (well I plugged in the turner just the wrong one. sigh)
Before that they were shipped eggs that had been setting around for more than a week in room temp not being turned before I got them.
Some have saddle air cells and the others, the air cells aren't quite as big as I would like them to be for being day 21. But I only had 3 clears.
But on the plus side, the eggs were free to me, I couldn't just let them get thrown out.

These are beautiful birds. I spent 50 bucks for 22 eggs but only 3 hatched after it took six days for the post office to deliver. All 3 died within a couple days. I was heart broken.

They may surprise you and have a great hatch

Can anyone help me I accidently killed a mother quail doing yard work and discovered 10 eggs in her nest......I don't want to let them die what do I do

Oh that's so sad. I hate when they die after they worked so hard to hatch. Did you find snowflakes somewhere else?

So far nothing. I did have 5 cot's hatch late last night/this morning, that I put in a week later. So they were only not turned for a week,
but they were local. I had 7 of those eggs in lock down. They were due to hatch today.
I candled one snowflake when I took the cots out and it looked to still be alive. It was one that didn't have a saddle shape air cell.
So I'm crossing my fingers, but not holding my breath.

No I didn't, during the summer we are way to busy to to hatch. Family coming and going and my Hatch Room, or as my wife calls it our Grandchildrens room, has to stay available. Maybe I'll try again in the Spring, this was my second experience with shipped eggs and both were failures.

I know a gentleman selling adult breeding pairs of snowflakes if you are interested..... Not my birds, no vested interest, just a friend I'v never met.....

Edit to add:

Quote: I ended up with 2 bobwhite's. one Snowflake and one Bulter. I had to help them both out of the shell.
When opening the top they both were positioned wrong. I could have maybe saved one more snowflake if I would have acted quicker.
It had internally pipped but was faced outwards beak not under wing, it was positioned just like the two I saved. None of the other bobwhite's internally pipped.

The snowflake has curled toes on the left foot, but is walking/running fine.
They are a week old. Not calm or friendly, They crouch down and stay still for a long time, when I feed, water or talk to them.
So they have the instincts of a bobwhite.
