"I hear there's lots of really good prey beyond the river. Our only problem is that we don't have a way to get across." Lark leaned in close and whispered "I hear the alphas have been going there at night. Thats how they are always so healthy and glossy. I mean, how else would they get that way? Look at how little they are eating." Lark motioned to the alphas, dantily sharing a piece of deer meat between them.

"Shhhh" Finch hushed him. "We tracked their scent to the river last night. It joined with a bear smell at the bank, we think they have struck a deal with a bear. Those things are big enough to carry two wolves across the river, ya know." She whispered, looking around to make sure nobody was watching them.
