Snuffles (Pasteurellosis)

Well what's strange is the same thing happened to her and her friend. She bought a few ND's from California and brought them back and killed some of their herd. Now she is turning around and doing the same thing? It's sad that people can't be truthful and cull sick rabbits. I've never had a problem with any of my rabbits being sick and I really don't want to go to that point!

Do you know the antibiotics name? Can you give me some other information on it?

Thanks

Baytril & Ciprofloacin are 2 of the antibiotics used to treat it,there are others. Do a search for Pasteurellosis online.

this doe is the one that may have been exposed ? The babies will be exposed through the mom if she has it....would make them carriers ? or they'd become sick? BUT you don't know if she has it right?
My sister works at Emory University, heading up a division in the animal sciences wing ( working primarily with rats ,mice, cavies and rabbits) , she says that pretty much all rabbits are carriers of it...

I had about 14 rabbits exposed to it, including my momma doe. She hasn't shown any signs of being sick, I check them all the time. If they carry it, why haven't I've seen it in my rabbits? Does it only really show during stress?
