So… is this a wild or escaped/set free/ domestic rabbit?

I asked our neighbor that had been asking something about rabbits if they were his. He said they weren’t, that they just showed up one day And that he feeds them carrots every now and then. He says there are three. This one, a grey one, and one that’s part white and part light brown. I haven’t seen the grey one yet.

Three? You're likely going to have a feral population if they don't get caught.

I do not buy hay labeled for rabbits.
It is so much cheaper to buy hay labeled for horses.

I would imagine that if it stays and lives in the yard like it currently is living that it probably won't be around for too long before something eats it.

Would any of these be good?
(I’m assuming the alfalfa wouldn’t after I read a bit of stuff)

Yeah, we thought there Was A chance it wouldn’t survive super long, but it’s been around a month and it’s still here. But as always, a random hawk/falcon/owl could suddenly attack it (there’s a lot of them here)
(lot of hawks and falcons I meant I’ve never seen an owl nearby). Possibly a raccoon could get it, but we don’t have very many around here. always a chance tho (do they eat rabbits?)

Giving them hay would be better than giving them carrots.
But since they live outside, I imagine there finding enough hay or grasses on their own if your weather is decent still.

The weather isn’t bad. We’ve had a few cold days ( :/ ) but there’s still a lot of grass and stuff around

He’s looks domestic. I’d see if you can keep him he could be a great pet! Also agree with hay vs carrots. Carrots are high in sugar (I think, I just know our bunny got them as special treats!)

I’ve heard about carrots not being that good for them, so far we haven’t given it any. It hasn’t gone over towards our neighbor very much in a while

hopefully we’ll be able to keep him : D

Rabbits usually deal with cold just fine, as long as they can get out of the wind.
They don't do so well with wet.

But if there is plenty of grass (green or dry), the rabbits probably do not need hay, unless the grass gets buried under snow. After all, hay is just dry grass, and many areas have plenty of that.

I would make sure the rabbits have some source of water, whether that's a natural pond or a dish someone provides.

Not wild. It looks like a domesticated rabbit to me, probably a meat rabbit mix. If you can catch the rabbit that would be good

It’s got a few places to wait out the rain, they work pretty well

I don’t know where it’s been drinking water from, from puddles here that our hose creates to nearby ponds
I’ll see if I can get it a water dish today, if not today tomorrow

Most likely the other two haven’t been caught yet. I asked my neighbor the stuff a few days ago and he said he’s been feeding them, indicating that they’re still alive…
