So addicted! Set eggs 10/14/11! Who's my buddy?

Ok, my third chick just hatched! Its another partridge I believe. I soooo wanted some black, and splash and my one buff that made it to lockdown. Today is day 21. I'm not too hopeful becuase usually they seem to start pipping roughly the same time. The last one pipped around 3 pm yesterday. I have a few that wiggled a lot last night, one that wiggled alot on day 18/19 but nothing since. Oh I had 13 go into lockdown...one died...please please please start hatching more!!!!

My very 1st hatch I had one that wiggled alot and early and I thought it died. To my supprise it hatched very last! I hope it does the same for you!

I am starting to get jealous, everyone has chicks and hearing peeps. I hear nothing, see no movement, and I see no holes. Tomorrow is day 21 I am so hoping to hear something or see something just something to let me know they are alive. I hope I get fuzzy butts like everyone else.

That really sucks...at least I have 3 now...but i'm still stressed about the idea of 13 going into lockdown having many wigglers and no other pips!!! I'm sure you'll have some pips soon!

So when I took my 3 babies out I decided to candle...and saw noooo movement at all. Nothing. Quite a few had vessels but no movement. Our furnace isn't working...I don't know why. But the incubator is having a really hard time to keep the temps up. We're freezing, the eggs are freezing, but the 3 babies are nice and toasty in their brooder. Anyway, I digress. Most eggs have HUGE air cells, once in particular was empty for 3/4 of the egg and compressed down to the last quarter. No movement, sound...nada. I decided to poke a hole and see. I poked a tiny hole and there was a severely shrink wrapped chickie wayyyyy in the bottom...no movement or sound. So I decided to make the hole a little bigger and because its soooo dry the shell just crumbled away and I accidentally poked what I tought was a dead chick. Then it moved...it started pulsating. I couldn't see anything because the membrane was sooo dry and shriveled. I felt sooooo awful. I wet the membrane and it became completely clear and Icould the little guy wrapped soooo tight in there and a lot of vessels. Nothing bled but the egg is wide open and and the chick is wrapped soooo tight in there. I just don't know what to do. I wrapped it in a sopping wet towel with the top exposed. I think my humidity was too low this hatch...I'm not going to dry hatch ever again!!! Any advice??

Sorry that happened. I haven't turned on our heat either. It's probably 59* in here. Just trying to acclimate to the cold.
